01What we handle

Everything your books need, every month.

Transaction entry & categorisation

Every sale, expense, and transfer entered into a tidy chart of accounts that mirrors Sri Lanka IRD categories, so year-end filing is friction-free.

Bank reconciliation

We tie every bank statement line to a ledger entry — monthly or weekly — so your cash position is always a trusted number, not an estimate.

Catch-up & clean-up

Months or years behind? We do historical clean-ups on a one-time flat fee, typically before year-end tax filing. Then regular monthly service after.

03Why ERPA

Not just data entry. Decision-grade finance.

Most bookkeeping is handed to a clerk. We treat it as the foundation of your tax position, your financing conversations, and your management decisions. One team, one audit trail, monthly chartered review.

Bookkeeping + tax filing, one firm

Most bookkeepers in Sri Lanka cannot file taxes. Most tax consultants do not touch day-to-day books. We handle both end-to-end, which means your tax return reconciles to your books down to the rupee — no last-minute reconstruction, no handover errors.

ERPNext-ready from day one

We structure your chart of accounts and ledgers so that when your business outgrows spreadsheets, you can migrate into ERPNext without re-mapping anything. Your bookkeeping investment is forward-compatible.

Chartered review every month

Your account is reviewed by a chartered consultant monthly, not just by a data-entry clerk. That means subtle issues (misclassified expenses, missed input tax, aged receivables slipping) get caught early, not at year-end.

Monthly management accounts, not raw ledgers

You get a monthly pack: P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and a short note on what moved. Decision-grade information in your inbox before the next month ends.

10+ years of Sri Lankan practice

We have handled bookkeeping and tax filing through the pre-APIT era, the 2022 crisis, and the current IRD portal cycle. We know the local banks, the IRD's quirks, and what a defensible audit trail looks like.

04Questions

Bookkeeping, in plain answers.

Common questions we get before signing on a new bookkeeping client.

What is the difference between bookkeeping and accounting?

Bookkeeping is the day-to-day: entering transactions, reconciling bank statements, keeping ledgers tidy. Accounting is the interpretation on top: management reports, tax computation, strategic advice. ERPA does both — our bookkeeping flows directly into monthly accounts and year-end tax filing, so you only deal with one team.

How much does bookkeeping cost in Sri Lanka?

It depends on transaction volume, VAT/payroll scope, and whether you want management accounts. We quote flat monthly fees across three packages (Essentials, Growth, Full-Service). Share your business profile and we'll return a transparent quote within one business day. No hourly billing, no scope creep.

Do I need bookkeeping if my business is small?

If you earn business, freelance, rental, or professional income, yes. Without proper books you file by guesswork — missing deductions, over-stating income, inviting IRD questions. Clean books cost less than one tax penalty, and they give you a real view of what the business is doing.

Can bookkeeping be done remotely?

Yes. Most clients send bank statements, invoices, and expense receipts via a shared folder or WhatsApp. We handle the books, you receive monthly reports in your inbox. In-person meetings only when you want one — our office sits between Piliyandala and Kesbewa for Colombo-area clients.

What if I'm months behind on my bookkeeping?

Common and fixable. We offer catch-up bookkeeping as a one-time flat-fee project — typically 3 to 24 months of historical clean-up, often sequenced before a year-end tax filing. Once caught up, you move to the regular monthly service.

Will my financial data stay confidential?

Yes. Access is limited to the chartered consultant assigned to your account, financial data is encrypted at rest, and we sign NDAs on request. We have handled sensitive books for SMEs, high-net-worth individuals, and company directors for over a decade.

Do you also file my tax returns?

Yes — year-end personal or corporate tax filing is included in every package. VAT returns and payroll filings are included in the Full-Service package, or available as add-ons. Because we hold both your books and your tax return, there is no handover gap between the two.

Ready for books you can trust?

Share your business profile and we will quote a flat monthly fee within one business day. No pressure, no surprises.
